With less than a week to go until the big day, the Ohioana Book Festival has been featured in a great article in the Sunday, May 3 edition of The Columbus Dispatch.
Nancy Gilson’s article, Fountain of Talent, gives a complete overview of the event, taking place this coming Saturday, May 9, at the State Library of Ohio Building on East 1st. Avenue in Columbus.
“Fountain of Talent” gives a thorough rundown of the varied schedule of events for each featured author during this busy and fun-filled week. All of the featured authors will be participating in community outreach events around central Ohio, not just at the book festival.
“Not all the people who love books can get to the festival, so we’ve asked our featured authors to do some community outreach,” “It’s a way for us to extend the festival experience.”
–Ohioana executive director Linda Hengst, from the article.
More information about the community outreach events will be forthcoming.
Thank you to Nancy Gilson and the Dispatch for their continuing support of Ohioana and the Ohioana Book Festival.
Ohio magazine has once again featured the Ohioana Book Festival, in a fabulous article written by Jennifer Rogers.
“Author! Author!” includes interviews with OBF featured authors R.L. Stine and Peter Mansoor.
In the article, Stine says, “I love meeting my readers. It’s actually quite helpful to do so — I get to see what they look like, what they wear. It’s nice to see these people in person, since I’m at home writing for them all of the time.”
Mansoor, is also very enthusiastic. “I’m excited about this,” he says. “I think it’s a great opportunity for the people of Ohio to see authors in person and to ask questions.”
There will be plenty of opportunities to meet both R.L. Stine and Peter Mansoor at the Ohioana Book Festival. Check out the schedule for the day’s events here for times when Mansoor, Stine, and all of the other featured authors will be appearing.
“Author! Author!” appears in the May 2009 issue of Ohio magazine.
